On a clear dark night the stars shine brightly over the vineyard. 210 images were stacked together to create this image. As the Earth rotates, all the constellations appear to rotate around Polaris, the North Star.
The conditions for astrophotography were optimum. There was very little light pollution. The huge leaves of the grapes covered the vines. The leading lines of the rows of grapes draw the eye towards the North Star. Airglow in the atmosphere leaned heavily towards green, indicating the luminescence of oxygen molecules present.

Living in Southern California in close proximity to local beaches, Lindsay enjoys photographing sunrises, sunsets and long exposure images over the ocean.
