Description
The Milky Way is only visible about six weeks a year in the Northern Hemisphere. One must go to a dark sky location to view it. The Milky Way arches over the landscape. The Galactic Center on the right is the bright part of the Milky Way.
To the naked eye, the stars look like twinkling white stars. But to the sensor in a professional camera, there is a rainbow of colors in the sky.
Not only are there bold, bright colors in the Milky Way, there are also colors in the sky itself. Green and red indicate oxygen while yellow is from sodium. Our eyes cannot perceive these colors, but the camera sensor has no problem picking up the colors.
