Description
The Philadelphia Museum of Art was designed by Julian Abele, the first African American who earned a degree in architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. The classic Greek Revival architecture is timeless in its symmetry and grandeur.
At the time the art museum was photographed, an exhibit by American artist Jasper Johns was on display. The banners between the columns reflect his work.
In the popular movie "Rocky", the actor portraying Rocky runs up the steps of the art museum. There is a sculpture in the garden of Rocky that is very popular with visitors.
A filter was added to the art museum for an artistic effect.
