Artist's Description
The Milky Way drifts over the Sierra Nevada Mountains and comes to rest on Lone Pine Peak. The planet Jupiter says goodnight to the hikers on Mt. Whitney. They have earned a well deserved rest and will wake early in the morning to resume their hike to the summit. At 14,505 ft., Mt. Whitney is the tallest mountain in the United States.
Alabama Hills is the foreground setting for the rustic metal sculpture "Iron Tree" created by artist Dan Dickman. It is a sculpture that fits in so well with the surrounding landscape.
