The Milky Way bids goodnight to the landscape on a quiet, still night. California poppies have long since closed their petals for the evening. Tomorrow will be a busy day with tourists reveling in the hills and plains covered with the bright orange colors of the poppies. But for tonight, they conserve their energies and rest.

The California Aqueduct continues to work silently throughout the night bringing much needed water to all who thirst.

Lindsay Thomson is a photographer who specializes in a variety of landscape images. Her photos have garnered her awards in juried exhibitions locally and internationally. Living in Southern California in close proximity to local beaches, Lindsay enjoys photographing sunrises, sunsets and long exposure images over the ocean.
