A hand built driftwood house stands in solitary reverence of the Milky Way as it drifts across the sea. The bright star near the center of the sky is the planet Jupiter. The Galactic Center is the large, bright part of the Milky Way to the left of Jupiter.

This image won a Merit Award in Buenaventura Art Association art competition. It also won a Special Recognition Award in a Seascapes Art Exhibition at the LightSpaceTime Art Gallery, an international gallery.

Lindsay Thomson is a photographer who specializes in a variety of landscape images. Her photos have garnered her awards in juried exhibitions locally and internationally. Living in Southern California in close proximity to local beaches, Lindsay enjoys photographing sunrises, sunsets and long exposure images over the ocean. A national forest is close to home and offers many opportunities for photography as well. She enjoys astrophotography, specifically Milky Way and star trails combined with unique foreground elements.
